Clear braces function very similarly to traditional metal braces, except they’re made of ceramic instead of stainless steel. They adjust your child’s teeth in exactly the same way as traditional metal braces do. Most of our patients report that they are extremely comfortable to wear and very efficient at moving teeth into proper alignment.

The ceramic material blends in with the natural appearance of your child’s teeth, giving them a low-profile, less obtrusive look. They are virtually clear and barely noticeable against the front of your child’s teeth. The ceramic material also eliminates the metal-on-metal effect that can cause uncomfortable sensations when eating with metal utensils while wearing normal braces.

What You Can Expect With Invisible Braces

To begin straightening your child’s teeth, Dr. Lisa Strunk will take a series of x-rays, measurements and impressions of their mouth. Doing so not only gives her a complete view of their specific dental problems, but it also allows her to outline a strategic treatment plan.

From there, Dr. Strunk will attach the clear porcelain brackets to the front of your child’s teeth and connect them with transparent wire and elastic rings to ensure an inconspicuous look. As your child’s treatment continues, they will need to return to Pedodontics, P.C. from time to time for follow-up appointments. During these meetings, Dr. Strunk will tighten the braces and continue shifting your child’s teeth and jaw into their ideal positions.
